THE IMPORTANCE OF REBRANDING

A logo should never be forgotten.

A company’s logo is essentially a shorthand element of communication that portrays who we are as a business. So! You should ask yourself, does yours make you feel great about your company? And if not, it’s probably time for a refresh.

Reasons to reinvent your brands logo design.

  • Brand is evolving and target market is growing.

  • Logo has grown tired and isn’t reflecting your brand anymore.

  • You need simplified variations of your logo for social media etc.

  • You need to ensure your logo is adapting to those changes.

  • The company is merging or has just been acquired.

  • The business has just been through a name change.

  • We’re entering a new market… or new territory.

My rebrand

My original logo was created while I was a student early in my educational journey. At that time i thought it reflected my personality and portrayed me as being a graphic designer—Professional with a clean cut precision. Originally designed as a monogram, I truly loved my logo and in some ways I still do, but it’s time to move on to pastures new.

Did you notice the hidden letterforms?

Since designing my initial logo, I have grown as a graphic designer and creative and developed my skills and abilities within the industry. Now, I need my logo to reflect the persona and the abilities of who I am now.

Going forward i wanted a new look—one that was modern and professional looking and would reflect my brand ethics, it needed to be clean cut but still show a bit of my fun personality.

I also wanted my logo to be as diverse as possible allowing me to be able to create a variety of versions such as: Icon, Monogram, Watermarks or Sub-mark—A logo system that could be used for future brand directions.

Design process

Working through my design process to generate ideas for my rebrand, I kept to mind that I wanted my logo to reflect my brand personality—creativity, passion and commitment.

I plan to go into my design process in detail in a later blog post. keep an eye out!

New logo

The key thing to remember when design or redesigning a logo is knowing your brand; and the message you want to send with it—after all it is the first line of communication between you and the world.
